“Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I'll remember. Involve me and I'll understand.” Chinese proverb
We at the Weston Climate Group are looking for inspiring stories to post on our website Blog about your decision to take our “kilowatt challenge”. For those of you who do not know about the challenge, here are the basic steps: First, download a template from our website www.westonclimategroup.org. Next, set a reasonable goal for energy reduction -- we suggest 10-15%. Then, visit our website for tips on how to reduce your energy use. Finally, keep track of your monthly kilowatt-hours and compare them to last year’s. After a few months, report your progress on our website poll. You’ll see how much power Weston is saving as a community.
Participation is an important cornerstone to a vibrant democracy. Common purpose leads to necessary change. Without it, we tend to lack the leverage to adequately deal with the larger issues, like global warming. That’s why we are looking for your story. After you decide to take the “kilowatt challenge” and involve yourself in the process, you will understand your energy use more fully, and take an active roll in minimizing the negative effects of that use. We hope that you’ll participate, and share your story at info@westonclimategroup.org.
