Weston Climate Group’s Call to Action

Weston Climate Group’s Call to Action - by Roy Chatalbash

Our demand for ever-increasing amounts of energy is leading to a larger carbon dioxide blanket in the atmosphere that holds in heat. Not only will this mean a worsening of the climate change we are seeing around the world, but it will also necessitate building more power plants. That’s why unlikely proponents such as the energy company, NStar, is providing solutions even though it will mean reducing their potential revenues.

NStar electric is providing energy efficiency programs that can help assess your energy use and point out ways to save both power and money. For example, their MassSave program not only helps customers identify energy efficiency measures, but it also offers rebates on approved products such as windows, insulation and refrigerators. Simply call 800.654.5833 or visit their website for more info www.masssave.com.

This Saturday, April 14th, local communities are putting together awareness activities to help people make choices in their own lives that will lead to a sustainable environment. Weston Climate Group members will have an information table at Omni supermarket from 9-12pm, and volunteers at the Weston dump will pass along reading materials and answer any questions that you might have from 8-11am. We look forward to seeing you.
