This is a reminder about the Sunday, March 4 Weston Climate Group meeting tomorrow at the Weston Community Center!

AGENDA:

• 3:30 pm - volunteers report on meeting on website planning, discuss and vote on blog
• 4:00 pm - speech by Michael Crowley "Practical, Cost-Effective Green Building Design and Construction"

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• "Step It Up, 2007" - Saturday, April 14, 2007
  66 Massachusetts communities and 777 in US have signed on!

"STEP IT UP CONGRESS! CUT CARBON BY 80% BY 2050"

NEXT WESTON CLIMATE GROUP ORGANIZING MEETING:

• When - SUNDAY, MARCH 11, 4:00 pm
• Where - FORBES ROOM, BROOK SCHOOL APARTMENTS
  

Here is a first go around of ideas:

Location: Weston Town Hall Steps between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm requested, hope for approval next week

• Bike from home to Weston Center
• Decorate your bike with recyclable materials
• Prizes for the craziest, most beautiful, bizarre bike
• Have a bicycle parade around the Town Green
• Invite the H.S. Band to play
• Invite the H.S. Dance group to preform
• Food concession for lunch, e.g. pizza and sodas (project for the H.S. Group?)
• Program: invite local, state and national elected officials to speak
• Local officials to talk on their vision for carbon reductions for Weston, State and Nation, and what the legislative agenda is for this coming year for cutting carbon to reach the 80% benchmark by 2050
  

(If unable to attend, ask for someone from their office or a written statement to be read at the rally)
