In June, the House of Representatives passed a climate and energy bill, the "
American Clean Energy and Security Act" and in September Senators John Kerry and Barbara Boxer introduced the "
Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act." Senate deliberations will continue this Fall, with a plan to culminate in the enactment of legislation. With the final stages of the
international climate negotiations happening this December in Copenhagen, it is crucial for the US to step up and take action.
Join us for a review of key elements of the two pieces of legislation, how they differ, the lead up to international negotiations, and how you can make your voice heard. A 30 minute presentation will be followed by questions and answers.
